Blahg Blahg Blahg

Is anyone out there even reading this stuff?

At this point, not many people know about this website/”blog” (are you annoyed by that word as much as I am?) and the people that do know about it, are quite frankly, tired of hearing about it. At this point, I AM writing for my own health!

The fact of the matter is, I am doing this to establish a “platform” as they say in the publishing (book, that is) world. See, I have this planner type thing I designed and am trying to get it published. BUT, without a “platform” - an audience already drawn to your work - agents and publishers alike are not so interested in helping you. It’s such a long drawn out process. Some days, I just want to get the damn thing published without any help from agents etc. - just go the “self-publishing” route. But then I’m like, well, I’ll probably need to market it myself which again leads me to - I will need a web-site and an audience - a platform.

Ugh.

So, here I am, writing these blogs - hoping that YOU - yes you, are reading this. If you are, then maybe I’m getting somewhere.

But, you’ll have to excuse me for not writing daily, or even bi-weekly. You’ll have to excuse the amateurish website created in “iWeb” - Apple’s Web-site Design for Dummies Program, with it’s non-working RSS feed (at least I don’t think it’s working - who knows - I’m totally new to this stuff), with no place to leave comments, and crazy-long URLs. (Look at the address bar).

This past week I’ve been trying out all these other web design programs for rookies like me (no offense to you if you are using the WYSIWYG programs - I applaud you for even doing it). I flirted with the idea of diving into Dreamweaver - realizing I don’t have the patience, quite frankly, lack the motivation - and DON’T HAVE TIME to learn it. Why I go through the whole “setting myself up for failure” process I have yet to figure out. Coming back full circle to - I’ll just use iWeb and deal with the imperfections that come with consumer-friendly products.

All this for creating a friggin’ “platform”.

Anyway, if YOU are reading this, please keep coming back. This’ll get better I promise. I just have to figure out what the hell I’m doing! In the mean time, I’ll keep writing for my health and maybe you’ll be entertained by my newborn blahg.

Thank you, thank you very much...I am now leaving the building.
