Oh I can so relate. Esme is as picky as they come, and from day to day you never know what she'll eat. I try to start with something healthy, but digress more and more until I'm begging her to just eat candy, for pete's sake. Just to get some calories in. And it's not like it's unattractively presented or tasteless or anything. And when she does eat, at least 50% of it just gets chewed and spit out - not because she doesn't like it (she takes another bite afterwards), she just doesn't want to swallow it.

And of course, close to 100% of what I prepare for her I end up eating... Great diet plan.

Somehow she is not skinny. I'm afraid she has my metabolism... :)

Hi! I found your blog through Mom Blog Network and I just wanted to say I love your style and I'll be back!

I kept a paper journal back when I had one child and was pregnant with the second. I was terrified and guilt-ridden because I couldn't ever possibly love anyone else as much, right? Don't give it a second worry.

7 kids later, and I love every one of them as fiercely as you could ever imagine. They each hold a unique place in my heart. And what you can't give them in time and attention, they will give each other, and they'll be better people for it.

I can't tell you how delicious that list sounds.

I spent the morning at the dentist and my mouth is so numb that I can't eat and all I want is sugar and salt and everything you put on that list, ESPECIALLY the nachos and M&M cookie.

(Clearly I don't have your daughter's commendable restraint.)

I'm carrying around an extra 10 pounds compliments of that diet. Note to self: This diet is great for toddlers. For mommies, not so much :)

Mmmmm, I could go for a giant M&M cookie right now :)

Munchie is sometimes REALLY good with eating (loves tofu stir fry, ate all of her falafel last night) and then there's other times when she screams for "PIIZZZAAAA" All. Week. Long. And GOD FORBID we run out of Tollhouse Crackers!! :\

Moz:So comforting to hear you go through the same thing! Although, I DO wish my daughter had my metabolism. Instead, she's as thin a rail. Maybe I should try candy as well. It's funny, cuz she actually does LOVE veggies and fruit (healthy kid! am I sure she's mine?!), and we would feed her the more fattening stuff before giving her, her veggies. These days though, she even puts her nose up to the healthy stuff.

Michele: So glad you found me! I'll have to check out yours as well! Thank you so much! I can't tell you how much on particular days such as today, hearing something like that is just what I needed! Thank you for your supportive advice. Especially coming from a veteran mom such as yourself! Which btw, I don't know how you did/do it!!! You're truly amazing.

ck: I know, these days (being pregnant and all), it's all about what "sounds" good. Tell me you had a plate of nachos after you read this!

Kathy B: I 3rd that!

Bekkah:mmmmmmmmmm.......that list sounded delicious as well! and so healthy! We were just talking about making felafel - I don't know what happened to that? I could really go for a makeover on our daily plate over here! When can you come over?!

HA! Sorry, did I give the wrong impression???? I HATE cooking, so I make three meals ONLY...tofu stir fry, falafel and gnocchi with diced tomatoes and cannellini beans. Ohio is so sick of these three meals that occasionally he'll have a lean pocket instead...'for variety' :\

Oh, I'm not judging at all!! I say, whatever the kids will eat, go for it! :) I am sure I will be cleaning Boyd's plate often, as he gets older.

Bekkah: Well, those 3 meals sound perfect to me. Actually, I really need to give my husband props here, cuz he does most all the cooking and makes incredibly good food. He just "wowed" me w/a Malaysian dish called "Laksa"(sp?) and it was quite healthy. So I have no place to complain about our daily plate.

Nicolle: Thanks. Yes, you probably will!:-D
