I'm so glad I'm not alone.

NOOOOOOO!! That's just not right. Might I suggest making the switch to disposable?!?! It may not be 'green', but damn is it convenient ;)

AAANd you have a dishwasher!!!

We don't which is why I don't understand my dh's total lack of understanding at my reluctance to cook nice meals for family...

unless it is on the bbq.

angel and leendaluu: thanks. it's good to know I'm not alone also!

bekkah: I agree...BUT it would only help if there was a such thing as disposable pots, pans, mixing bowls, collanders and pitchers!

crunchy: yes - even w/a dishwasher (which we run daily). By the way, we did BBQ (at least part of it). It was apparently a somewhat ambitious BBQ.

That was my sink after last week's BBQ...and I let the dishes sit for a day or two...AND it was 100 million degrees out...SO everything baked onto the plates and was extremely glue-like. The worst was the french onion potato chip dip. I just threw the bowl away (don't tell my husband).

Over here it's like that with the laundry. When the kids ask for socks I tell them to sift through the piles of dirty clothes that are waiting for the "help" to put them into the machine.

Of course, "the help" is too busy catching up on her blog cause she's been on vacation for two weeks.

As we speak the dishes are assembling themselves nicely in my sink, because the clean ones in the dishwasher refuse to put themselves away - smiles!

OMG! That is SO my house also! LOL. I run the machine two times most days. I keep telling the kids that they can use the same cup more then once; just because you change beverages doesn't mean you need a new cup! It just needs a rinse, for heaven sake! I bought a bunch of cheap plastic picnic like trays at Walmart (4 for $.98). They stack nicely in the sink. That way, they can use as many as they want and I still have MY plates for dinner.

deb: that's great about the bowl. You go girl. Next time tell your husband to deal with the caked on French Onion Dip bowl. I'm also glad to hear we're not the only ones that have 10 course BBQ's!

meg: I can't imagine what you go through with the laundry. I only have one little one, and it's never-ending it seems. Maybe "the help" title should be given to someone else in your house, so you can work on more important things like your blog!

wifey: I know, if the damn dishes would just magically put themselves away, the dishwasher would come in more handy wouldn't it?!

corinne: yeah, I can't imagine the dishes in your house with 4 kids! I'm totally with ya on the using one cup all day thing. I even try to do that w/plates if they're just being used for toast or sandwiches or something. Nice work on getting the trays.

what about the 10,000 sippy cup pieces? that is what litters my sink all day, everyday. they make piling anything in the sink impossible. i am with you and corrine with reusing. now if could just get the plastic water bottle monster under control. they really need to pick up recyclables more often than every other week!!!

I got these awesome little 32 oz. reusable water bottles at Target and just fill 'em up with our filtered water at home. They work out great and I feel better about not using water bottles uncontrollably. Our recycling has cut down which is also nice.

By the way, what's up with all those little sippy cup parts?! Can't they just make them so there are only like 2 parts? So annoying.

Um ... you got in my house, how?

Say no more. I'd post a pic of my kitchen sink... but firstly it is hiding under the pile of dishes (we also have a dishwasher) and.... I can't post a pic here anyway since it is a comment area for your blog. Point being - thank you for being so honest... I am so totally relating. The looking like crap in a ponytail or bun Mommy.. Oh yes, that's me. 2 years ago I had long glorious perfect hair and wore makeup and my clothes were NOT puke or slobber stained. Argh.
